Word Processing

Word Processing

Word processing does nothing to manage information.  It is intended solely for the cosmetic organization and presentation of data.  While the author of a document may intend to convey meaning ... information ..., the word processing tool itself provides no assistance toward this end.  It manages data-symbols, not information-meaning.

One of the greatest problems cutting through the fog of techno-speak is knowing when information-meaning is an issue and when it is not.  Though important to the user, information is simply not a consideration to the function of the word processing tool.

When the issue is informability,
word processing is irrelevant.
